The RTP Pathogen kit includes an extraction tube pre-filled with lyophilized lysate, which can be used to isolate genomic DNA from different bacterial species, as well as viral DNA and RNA from multiple starting materials. After lysis, the sample is transferred to a spin-column-based operation, and the total preparation time of the PCR / RT-PCR template can be completed in only 20 minutes. The kit is CE marked and complies with the Directive 98/79/EC about in vitro diagnostic medical device (IVD-Directive). Products bearing the CE mark in accordance with the IVD-Directive can be used for diagnostic applications in countries / regions that recognize the directive.
